How the numbers work

Mana Pool takes two cuts. The marketplace fee is 5% of each card's price, never of shipping, and it stops at $50 per item. That cap only matters for a single card above $1,000. Processing is 2.9% + $0.30 once per order, on cards plus shipping, and it has no cap.

Because the $0.30 is per order, not per card, cheap cards cost a lot more in percentage terms when they ship alone. Bundling bulk into one order spreads that $0.30 out.

Example: an order of $1.50, $4.25, $12 and $1,200 cards with $1.99 shipping. Marketplace fee is $0.89 + $50 cap on the $1,200 card = $50.89 (the cap saves $10). Processing is $35.67. Mana Pool pays you $1,133.18; after $1.25 postage you keep $1,131.93. The same order on TCGplayer keeps about $1,110.79.

FAQ

Does Mana Pool charge its 5% fee on shipping?

No. Mana Pool says the marketplace fee applies only to the price of the product. The 2.9% + $0.30 card processing fee does apply to the whole order including shipping.

How does the $50 fee cap work?

It is per item, not per order. Any single card priced over $1,000 pays $50 in marketplace fee instead of 5%. Ten $200 cards in one order are not capped. Since October 6, 2026 the cap is applied automatically; before that you had to email for a rebate.

Who pays the 4.2% buyer fee?

The buyer. Mana Pool charges buyers a 4.2% purchase fee on singles at checkout (none on sealed). It is not taken from your payout, but it does raise the buyer's total, which can affect how you price.

Is Mana Pool cheaper than TCGplayer?

On nearly every order, yes: about 7.9% + $0.30 versus about 13.25% + $0.30 on TCGplayer. TCGplayer's cap is $75 per item, so on very expensive single cards both platforms cap out, and Mana Pool still wins because its cap is lower.

When does Mana Pool pay out?

Payouts go out twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, by direct deposit after orders ship.

Is this exactly what I'll be paid?

No. It's an estimate from published rates checked on 2026-11-05. Not affiliated with Mana Pool or TCGplayer.
