How the numbers work

PSA Vault storage is free. You pay when you sell through PSA's eBay storefront or when you withdraw cards. Consignment is one fee on the final eBay sale price — PSA pays eBay's fees, and buyers pay shipping.

The consignment rate applies to the whole sale price, not just the slice inside the band:

That whole-price rule creates cliffs. A $499 sale pays 13% ($64.87). A $500 sale pays 12% ($60). You keep $4.87 more for one extra dollar of bids. The biggest cliff is $999 → $1,000 (12% → 10%).

PSA's own example: a $200 sale at the 13% band costs $26 and pays you $174.

Withdrawal uses Premium Insured Shipping by the total declared value of the shipment (effective Oct 29, 2026), plus $0.99 per item over 10, optional $4.99 early fee per card within 90 days of vaulting, and international handling. Compare that fixed cost to the consignment cut — for a card you plan to keep, withdrawal is often cheaper than selling; for a card you plan to flip, selling avoids the shipping hit.

FAQ

Does PSA charge eBay fees on top of the consignment fee?

No. PSA says sellers pay a single fee based on the final eBay sale price, with no separate eBay fees, and buyers cover shipping.

Is the rate tiered like a tax bracket?

No. Each band is one rate on the whole sale. Crossing $500, $1,000, $2,500, $5,000 or $20,000 drops the rate on every dollar, which is why the calculator shows the next cliff.

What does it cost to take cards out of the Vault?

Since Oct 29, 2026, U.S. Premium Insured Shipping starts at $19.99 under $500 declared value and rises by shipment value bands, plus $0.99 per item over 10. Withdrawals within 90 days of first vaulting add $4.99 per item. Canada adds $24.99 and other countries $31.99.

Is Vault storage free?

Yes. PSA says storing items in the Vault is free. You pay to withdraw or to sell through PSA.

What about PSA Partner Offers?

PSA says Partner Offers have zero fees — the offer you see is what you get. This calculator models eBay consignment and withdrawal only.

Is this exactly what I'll be paid?

No. It's an estimate from published rates on psacard.com checked on 2026-11-06. The $20,000+ 5% rate is a limited-time offer PSA shows with 7% struck through. Not affiliated with PSA or eBay.
